The goal of 0 Star is to complete the game as fast as possible. No restrictions. DDD Skip and all forms of BLJ are allowed. 1 Star is the same as 0 star except without DDD Skip.
Rules
There are no restrictions. All forms of BLJ are allowed. Timing starts from power on and ends when the big star is collected at the end of the game.
1 Star
After completing Bowser in the Dark World, head downstairs into the basement. SBLJ tutorial (1 Star)

0 Star
0 Star is possible due to Dire Dire Docks Skip (DDD Skip). DDD Skip is a trick involving BLJ's where Mario enters Bowser in the Fire Sea without having to enter Dire Dire Docks. Due to this skip, Mario is not required to obtain the 1 star in Dire Dire Docks required to push the water back to access Bowser in the Fire Sea.
