RTA Guide/All Red Coin Stars

The goal of the All Red Coin Stars extension category is to complete the game as fast as possible while collecting all red coin stars (both in the 15 main stages and the relevant castle secret stars).

Category rules

• Collect all red coin stars (both in the 15 main stages and the relevant castle secret stars)
• LBLJ is allowed
• MIPS Clip is allowed
• SBLJ or any form of skipping the 30 Star Door other than MIPS Clip is banned
• Intro Skip and Soft Reset gameshark codes are allowed

Version

If you do not skip the intro, the Japanese version of the game saves 0.3 seconds over the US version. If you do skip the intro, the US version of the game saves 2 seconds over the Japanese version.

Suggested routes

The beginner route loses around half a minute to the advanced route, mainly due to having to collect an extra star.

Route variations

HMC and LLL swap

The order of HMC and LLL can be swapped to get the difficult star HMC Reds out of the way earlier, but this will lose 1.2 seconds.
