Behind Camera Anywhere is a technique discovered by ds273[1] that allows Mario to position himself so that he is no longer visible to the camera.

Since the HOLP only updates when a held object is rendered, using the fact that the camera focus is a distance away from Mario, the camera can be faced away from Mario where he won't be rendered and so he can grab and throw a objects without updating the HOLP. This technique has been used as part of a method for the Bowser in the Sky pole skip.[2]

It seems like one way to do this is the enter Mario cam, fix the camera in place, and look in the opposite direction. The camera will then turn around to look where Mario is looking, and as such Mario is now behind the camera. Someone who actually knows what they're saying should verify this.
