No Input Challenge
The No Input Challenge is a trivial challenge where no buttons may be pressed and the Control Stick may not be moved from the neutral position. Due to the lack of automatic courses in Super Mario 64, it is clearly improbable for much to be accomplished this way. As such, it is usually mentioned as a degenerate-case parody, subset, or combination of other challenges, like the A Button Challenge.
A full-game run is impossible because the player would not be able to navigate the main menu nor dismiss any of the time-stopping textboxes that occur throughout progression, and not even the title screen demos can be manipulated. On a single-star basis, theoretical strategies would be limited to prior variable manipulation (including spawning displacement and RNG) and then waiting (compare for example Wii VC platform drift), or perhaps sheNaNigans. In practice, in most courses, Mario quickly lands and stays still outside of the range of any objects that could interfere with his position, speed, or progression. Afterwards, there is no state space to search beyond observing the deterministic outcome of loading the course.
Anything
In the Secret Aquarium, one 1-Up Mushroom will be activated and collected as Mario sinks down from the starting point.[1]
