Talk:Super Mario 64 DS
This isn't a wiki about SM64DS and no other pages discuss it, so I see no purpose in having it. For example, it won't be linked to. MMMMMMMMMMMMM (talk) 15:00, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- Still, SM64DS is related to SM64, I think a page explaining why and where SM64DS is different from SM64 can still have an use. Also, it was linked in the Uber challenge page. I wouldn't have made it if it wasn't in the Wanted pages. Adeal (talk) 17:00, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, that page was copied from another resource or wiki where it wasn't clear that it was N64 only. SM64DS TASers won't be coming here for information. I don't want to devalue the work you did creating this page, though. Maybe it belongs on a different wiki. MMMMMMMMMMMMM (talk) 17:11, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- I didn't intend on putting any information about SM64DS on Ukikipedia, just explain why it can't be considered as just an alternative version to SM64. The fact that page came from another source doesn't change the fact that it needed a link. I don't see how it's a problem to have this page here. I can change this page to accentuate more on the "different" side, if you want, I can understand that you could find something like "New bosses" not useful.Adeal (talk) 17:25, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- You could make a page about Sonic's powers and how he differs from Mario, but that doesn't make it relevant just because it references a relevant topic. MMMMMMMMMMMMM (talk) 17:41, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- But there's no question about if Sonic can be used for a "SEGA-only" strat to get Watch for Rolling Rocks in 0 A presses. You'll say "nobody thought of using the DS !" well no I saw someone asking that but that's not my point: I think it's important to clarify the difference beetween the game because people could think it's just a version like the 64DD or the Ique version. If you absolutely want to delete this page, I guess I can move some of the stuff to the "Versions" subsection of Super Mario 64, instead of linking to this page. But it does the job well and avoids adding too much irrelevant stuff (about why we can't consider it as another version) to the SM64 page.Adeal (talk) 17:25, 13 April 2019 (UTC)

Given that the game is a Nintendo "official" game and literally has the words "Super Mario 64" in the title, I support this (and only this) page remaining. Given that most people who are not experienced with the game, it is very conceivable they may not realize that it is more of a recreation than a different version. This page can act as a way to show why this game is not base game Mario 64.
I will say, if this page was ripped from another site that may pose issues- we aren't looking to actively get into an argument with a site like the Mario wiki. However, after viewing their page it seems like this is safe. --JoshDuMan (talk) 18:40, 13 April 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry if I was unclear, I mean that the Uber challenge page that linked to this page was from another site, not this page itself. MMMMMMMMMMMMM (talk) 02:09, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
