The SM64 TAS Tournament was hosted by [[SilentSlayers]] and [[Superdavo0001]], with [[ERGC Xander|ERGC | Xander]] and [[Alex (nim)]] hosting the losers' bracket. It consisted of 5 rounds, with the first four each eliminating half of the competitors, and the final round deciding the overall winner. | |||
It was the first ever competition with a tournament format (where entrants are gradually eliminated), and the first with a monetary prize. | |||
