[[RTA Guide/Fall onto the Caged Island|Fall onto the Caged Island]] can be replaced with [[RTA Guide/Chip off Whomp's Block|Chip off Whomp's Block]] if you cannot do Owlless, since the Owl will not be there.

Rather than doing [[RTA Guide/Shoot to the Island in the Sky|Shoot to the Island in the Sky]] after Bowser in the Dark World, you can save time by doing [[RTA_Guide/Shoot_to_the_Island_in_the_Sky#Island_Hop|Island Hop]] to get all the stars in Bob-omb Battlefield in one trip instead of two. This also allows [[RTA Guide/Tower of the Wing Cap#No Reds|Tower of the Wing Cap]] to be skipped.

[[RTA Guide/Lobby Backwards Long Jump|LBLJ (Lobby Backwards Long Jump)]] into Whomp's Fortress or Jolly Roger Bay can be used to get hard stars like [[RTA Guide/Blast Away the Wall|Blast Away the Wall]] or [[RTA_Guide/Blast_to_the_Stone_Pillar#Expert_(cannonless)|framewalk]] out of the way early, and save a small amount of time in castle movement.
