TAS Competition 2012 was hosted by [[sonicpacker]]. It lasted for only 5 tasks, with the [[Nico TAS Competition]] and the [[120 Stars (2012)|120 Star TAS]] taking up the rest of 2012. | |||
It was the first competition to be named with respect to the year it was run in, starting a trend that has continued to the present day (in both SM64 TAS competitions and TAS competitions in other communities). This has had the effect of causing competitions to be specifically planned to occur annually, with task numbering and scores resetting at the start of each calendar year. | |||
