When the player presses Start on the title screen, they're taken to the File Select menu. Here, there are 4 files: A, B, C, and D. The star count is displayed for each file, if the file is empty it says "NEW" instead.

The menu also has Score, Copy, Erase and Sound (Stereo/Mono/Headset) buttons. Score shows which stars have been collected in a file and the coin scores for each course. Copy and Erase copy/erase files. Sound can toggle between Stereo, Mono and Headset sound options.
