When the player first presses start on the title screen, this will take the player to the File Select here, there are 4 files A, B, C, and D. The star count is displayed and if not it says “New” instead.
When the player presses Start on the title screen, they're taken to the File Select menu. Here, there are 4 files: A, B, C, and D. The star count is displayed for each file, if the file is empty it says "NEW" instead.
 
The menu also has Score, Copy, Erase and Sound (Stereo/Mono/Headset) buttons. Score shows which stars have been collected in a file and the coin scores for each course. Copy and Erase copy/erase files. Sound can toggle between Stereo, Mono and Headset sound options.
