SM64org:SM64 versions
There are 4 versions of SM64, and this page shows the differences between them.
• Super Mario 64 (PAL) 25 frames per second.
In the PAL Version Mario does moves just with 25 frames per second. That means Mario's movements are much slower than in the NTSC versions. In the PAL version you can change between 3 languages. The languages are "English" "German" and "France" (Doesn't work in Australian PAL) Also does Mario has a different voice at the dives sometimes.
• Super Mario 64 (NTSC) [American] 30 frames per second.
In the American version are not much advantages or disadvantages compared with the Japanese version. Here are just small difference like... different Text and Intro lengths + different red coins audio. (More differences below)
• Super Mario 64 (NTSC) [Japanese] 30 frames per second.
In the Japanese version are some differences like no voices in intro+ending, and if Mario dies he doesn't say "Mama mia" also in flying or Bowser throws Mario doesn't saying something. Like in the PAL and American version. Also here are different Text and Into lengths. (More differences below)
• Super Mario 64 (NTSC) [Japanese-Shindou Edition (Rumble Pak)] 30 frames per second.
This is special version, where the BLJ trick is fixed. Also are in this version voices back like in American and PAL version+same red coins audio like in American, too. Mario does have here sometimes the same voice in dives like in the PAL version.
More differences between American and Japanese version of Super Mario 64!
The picture of the course "Jolly Roger Bay" is much different. In the American version is here the picture of the sunken ship with a yellow border. And in the Japanese version are here a picture with bubbles and a blue border. http://img.webme.com/pic/b/balow-brothers/jrb_vergleich.png
Another differences are that in the American version is here a box for this star. But in the Japanese version is here just the star without any boxes. Which saves like 3 seconds. http://img.webme.com/pic/b/balow-brothers/jrb_vergleich2.png
Also at the star "I'l Pinguin lost" are small differences with the star postition. In the American version, is the star more left. In the Japanese version is the star at the head from the pinguin. http://img.webme.com/pic/b/balow-brothers/pinguin.jpg
After the first and second "Bowser Battle" appears in the Japanese version a star instead of a key. As animation over Mario. In the Japanese version you can here also watch with C+Up in a different angle. Marios face moves to that angle, too. That doesn't work in the American version.
