This is a guide for how to beat the 100 coin star for Jolly Roger Bay with 0 A presses. This is usually done in conjunction with the red coin star.
Method
Start by DRing into the item box to break it. Collect the three coins that fall before frame walking up the pole to grab onto the pole and collect the red coin there before heading to the bottom of the shallow water. Collect the ring of coins and the red coin, then head back up to the surface. Grab another ring of eight, then descend to nab the third red. Another shell nearby reveals the fourth. Head to the beach to collect two of the five coins there; the others are out of reach. Head to the bottom of the bay and collect another red as well as the ring of coins near the entrance of the cave. Ground pound the blue coin switch to make 6 blue coins appear. After collecting them all, you should have 69 coins. Keep up the nice work and grab another ring of coins before killing three Goombas. Exit the cave. Make your way to the ship and repeat the frame walking strat previously used for the red coin star. After collecting the singular red near the wooden planks, instead of grabbing the other two, precisely maneuver to those platforms. After grabbing five of those coins, instead of attempting to move forwards, head back to the ship; from there it is possible to perform a slide kick that will let you reach the middle platform. Collect those coins, DR to the platform closest to the area with the cap box and switch, collect those coins, and lastly make your way to the ship. Grab the final two reds, when both the red coin star and the 100 coin star will spawn. However, the 100 coin will be rather high up. Collect the star with a slide kick from the ship's edge when it's at its max height. Finally, collect the red coin star to exit the course and complete JRB.
