GENERAL

Johannes has played SM64 for about 3-4 years (edit for clarification). He first was known strictly for his above-average TASes, but shortly after that, he became arguably a top TASer along with SilentSlayers. They worked hard together on the 5:33.85 0 star TAS that was published to http://www.TASVideos.org/. This helped them become strong TASers very quickly. After this, Johannes continued to create great TAS videos, but he also became a very strong single star player, obtaining a TWR/UWR in every Whomp's Fortress star for a decent amount of time. Although Johannes never really learned speedrunning the game, with categories like 70 star or 120 star. He tried a bit of 16 star, but never took it too seriously. Besides his TAS and single star skills, he also has done a lot for the SM64 community.

Finally, to save the best for last: Johannes, along with 8bitbubsy's connections helped get us the site http://www.sm64.org/. Since then, he has helped grow the community by being a helpful and active administrator there. Johannes did quit SM64 TASing for the most part after the 5:29 0 star TAS with SilentSlayers, but has always been around and always been administrating SM64.org. Other great works by Johannes include the BLJing series with SilentSlayers and JumpDiveSlope.

This should not be forgotten, he also hosted a legendary TAS Competition on the SM64.org forums. It was very popular for that time, and many great things were found from it. Everyone became a lot stronger at TASing thanks to this competition, and it holds many good memories for the people who remember it.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Johannes' has some great contributions to SM64 aside from his community efforts. Johannes during the 0 stars, and just overall has found some very useful things. Although some of these are obsolete, the point is that he was creative and helpful at the time to push the "meta-game" forward.

Johannes noticed that skipping the lava-burn "timesaver" in Bowser in the Fire Sea was actually slower than just going through it normally. Johannes also found that you can do Bowser in the Dark World BLJ on the elevator a cycle earlier (which in the most recent 0 star, 5:03 is actually a cycle ahead of this as well, thanks to that triple jump). This saved a good chunk of time for his 5:29 0 star with SilentSlayers.

Johannes also noticed things like delaying the dive on sideflip saves a lot of speed, and delaying the dive on slow wallkicks.

He utilized the triple jump wallkick on the elevator in the 5:33.85 which saved quite a bit of time, although it was originally done by Rikku.

Another thing he found was that if you do a long jump and hold Z, you can jump 1 frame earlier than if you didn't hold Z at the end of the long jump. This can be helpful in some situations; general finds like this in SM64 for Mario's movement are very important.

Johannes also proved that using the sign in Bowser in the Dark World was faster than using the strategy at the end of the 5:29 0 star TAS. I believe it only saved 1 or 2 frames over the 5:29 method, but it was great that he noticed you only need 5 frames of the "A" button for the sign jump if you manage to get good speed on your roll into the sign.

Johannes was always doing great timesavers in the ending Bowser in the Sky elevators. In the 5:33.85 and the 5:29 0 star TASes with SilentSlayers, he found all the fastest ways of getting past the elevators, most notably his 5:29 method is actually mildly used in the current Non-TAS speedrun meta-game.
