The original post of the TAS Competition started by JohannesSM64 has not been archived, as it was locked from the alexa web scraper (used to archive the WWW) and any other users to see. This means that we cannot use any information directly from the forum, however there are the YouTube video compilations he made even back then.

"This competition is not new. In February of 2019, the TAS Competition will become 10 years old – and has been running almost continuously since it started. On the now-defunct sm64.org forums, JohannesSM64 https://www.youtube.com/user/JohannesSM64/videos began the competition with a task in Whomp’s Fortress that gathered five submissions. Compared to its sizable amount of regular competitors nowadays, perhaps five submissions seems meager. But for the size of the forum, five submissions was substantial. The competition was a community based event with various members hosting the event over time. Some of the participants of these early competitions are still active in the community today, such as SilentSlayers, Kyman, and sonicpacker."

2019 

This year MK Dasher took over the job of creating compilations from sonicpacker. The 2019 TAS Competition is ongoing and as of 31st of May, Person is in the lead.

2018 

The 2018 TAS Competition was won by MKDasher, they got 239.2 points and finshed with 37.2 points difference before CeeSZee at second place.
The competition consisted of 25 challenges, a random one being: "In Bob-omb Battlefield, begin your run inside any cannon. You must break all 3 wing cap boxes and finish your run by entering any cannon".
