The 31 Star category is a legacy category based around collecting 31 stars. This was previously the minimum total needed to beat the game, prior to the discovery of Mips clip. The general route through 31 star is as follows: Collect 30 stars to open the 2nd bowser door , collect the Board Bowser's Sub star in Dire, Dire Docks, and finish off by performing Backwards Long Jumps past the 50 star door and the endless stairs to get to the final bowser stage.
Rules
- Mips Clip is banned (This prevents the typical 16 star skip)
- Side BLJ is banned (This prevents the 0/1 star skips)
