RTABC Guide/Shoot to the Island in the Sky

This is a guide for how to beat the star Shoot to the Island in the Sky in 0 a presses in an RTA run.

Method

This method is advanced and not recommended for beginners.

Due to the intended way requiring use of a cannon (and thus the A button), this strat requires a Goomba Bridge. This involves repeated cloning, hat-in-hand glitches, and HOLP setting. While not terribly difficult, this can get rather tedious. This method uses 6 Goomba clones and 1 transport clone. Once the Goombas are set up, Mario can get onto a shell and ride to the summit. After gaining speed and heading in the same direction as the Goomba Bridge, Mario, while riding the shell, will bounce off the last Goomba and make it to the island. While on the island, Mario can break the box but not obtain the star with a DR. To actually grab the star in 0 A presses, Mario must use the Goomba that was placed on the island earlier by transport cloning and perform a precise DR off of it.
