1 Key, is a category for TAS'ers which involves in skipping the first Bowser fight ([[Bowser in the Dark World]]). The Glitch was discovered in mid-2015, then [[sonicpacker]] uploaded a video showcasing on how the skip works. The video included using [[PU]] movement to get into the door. (A[[PU|PU]] does not have water.) The first ever TAS/Speedrun of 1 Key was released on September 29th, 2016, a year after the skip's release.

The strat involves using [[PU]] movement to navigate in front of the door, exploiting the facts that PUs have no water, and that the door-opening action takes precedence over entering the water within the course of a frame. The current record stands at 4’21”17, although no video has been released of the full run.
