When Mario does certain actions, a [[Forward Rollout|Dive Recover]] for example, he is in a state where he cannot grab any ledge. However, grabbing a star will immediately put him in the star dance action, which has the ability to grab ledges. <br />
While the animation of the ledge grab does not play, Mario will appear at the top of the ledge just like if it had.<br />
